Occupational safety and health organizations world-wide agree that angle grinders are one of, if not the most, dangerous tools in the construction industry.  Companies utilizing such equipment are forced to expend hundreds of millions of dollars annually in insurance and workers compensation claims.  One organization, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), utilizes the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) to gather statistics on all consumer product injuries. The NEISS had established that in 2008 an estimated number of 24,500 individuals have been injured nationwide, becoming the highest year on record for injuries caused by angle grinders alone.  In 2007, the same types of injuries reported tipped the scale at just over 24,000, and 2006 was right behind with over 23,600.
